Using up left over fabric pieces
61Here are a few quick things that i would do with left over fabric pieces.
Colourful belt
Try to cut the scraps into equal looking square or rectangular pieces. Sew them together into long strips. Long enough to tie aroud the waist.
Twist and plait together three strips to make a thick flat belt.
The loose ends can be tied with thread and trimmed to attach a suitable tassle or and other trim.
Bags & Pouches
Sew together patches of fabric to make a colourful pattern of your choice. Sew a lining fabric to two such patched pieces. Attach the two pieces with a long strip of fabric or cloth tape (3 - 4 inches) extending into a shoulder sling.
The patched pieces can be lined, folded or cut to shape and sewed together with one side open as pouches. The open side can have a zipper or loop button.
Frame It!
Sew pieces appropriately matched or coordinated to go with the theme of a room. These can then be framed as desired to be hung as interesting wall decor.
Alternately, kids pictures can be outlines with colourful patched fabric and framed too!
Hope these tips are helpful. I'll add a few more as I think of more.
